One Year After SPM
Today my friend and I were feeling bored so we browsed through our friendster's friends' photos.. and he showed me pictures of his friends which he said has "turned bad".
This got me thinking..
What did i turn into in this 1 year in Singapore?
Have i changed??
well..i honestly dun know..if u ask me i would say that i haven changed...maybe junior colleges in Singapore ins't conducive to change..because we still pretty much operate in the "school atmosphere" though i certainly learnt a thing of two in my one year in Singapore..
To me, a lot of ppl haven changed a bit since last year...
like Yen Tink...haha especially Yen Tink...I thought after a year in Taylors maybe she would have a boyfriend...lol..Win Jean, Chun Wei, Zhen Yuan...
haha all haven changed...
And a lot of ppl have changed too..
like Wei Kean..
haha..he seriously suddenly become very different from wat i know..lol
Well..so here is my question to everyone..
who do u think have changed a lot in this 1 year??
pls post!! HAPPY HOLIDAYS

I'm back!!!
...and it seems pretty quiet over here.
Anyway, I wanted to write out this incident for sometime now:
Well, see, early this year we had to do the food test experiment for Bio. The most interesting food test was the iodine test for lipids. We were supposed to drop, specifically stated in the question, 15 drops (3 by 5) of iodine solution onto a white tile. Well, whaddayouknow... we practically filled the whole surface of the tile with about 30 drops, so much that a little jerk would cause all of the drops to combine to form a puddle of yellowish aqueous goo in the middle of the tile.
Right. Next we mixed the enzymes and substrates together, started the stopwatch and here we go... testing the mixture for ... *something*.
"Eh, is this blue colour, arr?"
"I think this is blue la... I see my tile got black spots."
"Apasal tak dapat ni?"
"Man! I don't have enough iodine drops! Ish... Have to restart all over again."
"Haaah... How come yours took 5 minutes only? Mine already pass 15 minutes, still no result!"
And the phrase of the day was...
"You mean we're supposed to do it until it remains yellow? No wonder I never got blue colour!!!"
:P

I'm so happy AS is over... but only to be reminded that A2 is here to stay for 6 months. I wonder if I'll have time for anything besides studying after my hols. (Oh, I'll be here until Sun next week. Loveaduck.)
You know what's scary? How everything's flying past me so fast I'm left breathless without having a chance to recuperate before another gust of time blows me away to another zone. I just met my neighbours 2 days before.
I couldn't recognise my neighbour's youngest sister. All the once-midgets along my row of houses have turned into young ladies and men overnight.
That made me think a little: I wonder - over this period of a year leaving school - how much have I changed? How much have you guys changed? When we meet up years from now, would we still be able to engage in conversation and understand each other without hedges growing in between - not because we failed to keep in touch, but because we don't have anything in common left behind for us to build back our once-strong friendships on?
When I left my primary school, I kept looking back fondly at memories shared with friends: friends who scrawled FRIENDS FOREVER on my autograph book, friends who I grew up and shared secrets with, friends I didn't want to lose, but constantly called and wrote to, so as to maintain the comradeship. I thought that primary school would be this era stucked forever in my memory, something I would never be able to replace or run away from.
But now, 7 years ago seems so distant. Meaningful and precious, but still a mere collection of memories. Of all the primary friends I've been acquainted with, I still keep in touch with only a few. The others have just... disappeared. Maybe it is my fault that I didn't maintain contact with them. Maybe we just grew up. Maybe it's just the way things were meant to be.
Years have passed, and many of them have changed. It's this weird feeling - you know they're still them, but in a way, you no longer know them.
I think college has changed me. It has definitely (and drastically) altered my perception about life, and made me think harder. When you see me today, I'm not sure if I'll act like the same person you knew a year ago. I may be more sceptical, more rational (and we all know rationality leads to over-evaluation half the time), more mature. But then again, I might be more wary, not trusting anyone because I know how faulty the human being can be, more experienced on putting on a mask to hide all my thoughts beneath what people can decipher from the surface.
But then, you might have changed, too. Most of us (well, not me) might have different interests and priorities now *hint hint*. (And, believe me, relationship does change mindsets - either for better or worse. I should know.) Most of us may have physically changed and our tastes in fashion, music, lifestyle may heavily influence the way we think and act, when we're away from our turqoise pinafores and navy green trousers and rules and school bells.
Personally, I don't like the idea of growing up. Primarily because it means we have to face consequences to our actions. We are on our own now, no longer shielded by our parents (to a certain extent) or a knitted-community (school). We are individuals. We are adults. Makes me long for the old days where responsibility is measured by the homework we hand in.
Sometimes, I have this gnawing sadness within me - that one day we might not be able to come together as friends, but only as schoolmates... only as people with once-common background. Sometimes, I wonder if I'll remember and be remembered. Sometimes, I wonder if I'll ever see some of you guys again in this lifetime, or will we merely remain as people who shared a photograph and a classroom with.
They say distance makes a heart grow fonder. Until now, when I think of my days as a 5S1-er, tears fill my eyes, as I yearn for the memories I left behind and the joy I accumulated in the limited pages of my journal which snatch me back into reminiscence readily.
I hope we haven't changed... too much.
Missing you guys.

Milky justice
OK...this may not seem serious to some but my hostel is now host to a (insert favourite expletive here) milk thief(s)(is this grammatically acceptable?ah heck)..
The story goes something like this....I usually buy milk in twin packs...so when i'm drinking one halfway, the other unopened one just mysteriously disappears... *poof* from the fridge. It's like David Copperfield just got pasteurised. so I get pretty upset..You would too if ur milk gets stolen...so on saturday...when i bought my milk again...i decide to open both at the same time...in the small hope that if the thief sees that both are open...he'll leave them alone....
On sunday, i go open the fridge...guess what i see...both cartons opened, with one of them lying on its side, so that its contents had spilled all over the fridge, turning into yogurt. It's at times like this that you wished that you had learnt more languages...so that you can swear in them all. Not only were these bastards thieves...they were also spiteful slobs who spilled milk all over the communal fridge.
Then yesterday...my friend saw two people holding a carton of fruit juice getting into the lift...fruit juice which looked suspiciously like his...He goes to the fridge and check...true enough...all three packs of his juices were missing...we later found the other two in the dustbin outside the pantry..apparently they just finished it there and then...maybe they needed the fibre bad...so now we know the identity of our thieves....and are faced with a dilemma....my fren reported the matter to the hostel...but he doubts that any action will be taken because
a. he didn't write his name on the cartons
b. the boarders are non scholars, ie self funded singaporeans
meanwhile...we decided to think of a way to get those thieves to embrace lactose intolerance and came up with this idea....we buy another packet of milk...or juice....stuff it with laxatives..and put it in the fridge again....only thing is...we're not sure if it's really a good idea...if the thieves get hurt real bad... we might get into trouble...and then there's such a thing called karma as well...
So here's the dilemma...should we just wait for the hostel to investigate, should we expose them ourselves, or should we give them one helluva bowel experience?
(YX suggests that we shit them first, then expose them later, but i'll like to hear what the rest of u guys have to say about this)

For those of you who didn't bother to attend, here are the photos for you to regret not going. Bwahaha...
Shu Haur gave us a great show that day. Excellent host too! Enjoy yourself in Wales my friend.

P.S. Sorry it took so long. There ARE only 565 photos to upload...
P.P.S. Quality of the photos are crap. (coz I used the wrong settings... photographer's worst nightmare) However, what I lost in quality I hope i gained in quantity. Bleh.

Hello, people :)
Haha... My mid sem ended 2 weeks ago, but I doubt I'll get my results before the next exam, which is in less than 3 weeks. (PRE AS!!! *SCREAMS*!!!) Hopefully I get all As though, I'm not sure what I'll get for Chem and Phys.
Too much to do, too little time. Ironic. I had too much time before college started. And now I don't have time at all!
Okay, since I'm trying to minimise talking about how strenous studying is over here... Let me tell you more about my college.
SMELL
Why is it that perpetually everywhere I go, I tend to have to face weird smells? The computer lab smells musty, a part of the walkway smells pungent (seriously... it epitomises the word 'sengit'... worse than chloroform), from my room I smell haze on some evenings, the chem lab smells of sulphur half the time... thank goodness for homeostasis. XD
SOUNDS
There are a LOT of nocturnal sounds in my college late at night... The lizards cluck so loudly they give me sudden frights in the night. And there's the infamous Screaming In The Middle of the Night. Sometimes, there's Daniel Beddingfield, too. And the gush of the waterfall exercising physics laws at ungodly hours (the pressure is directly proportional to height one): there's no pipe for water flow, it just cascades down and hits the cement ground on the floor of my apartment (see: Principle of Conservation of Energy).
MERDEKA
Our country's Independence Night celebration saw me seated on the balcony of my classmate's apartment, munching burgers, eating Oreos, and watching the little celebration in front of the main block of my college. It made me miss CHS's brilliant dramas. I still remember Hitler from 2 years back! But I realised this was the first time ever I was celebrating something that is supposed to bear so much meaning 49 years ago. However, what flummoxed me was why the Pengarah of my college and the Pegawai Daerah Sepang was so un-intune with the Merdeka theme. Their speeches were loaded with praises of KTT. :P Presentations were simple, mostly done by the Diploma students. But yeah, they were okay. There was this funny dance... 1 guy surrounded by 6 girls. Very funny! Then nearing the chime of 12, the lecturers all went up the make-shift stage and did the countdown. Then it drizzled. :)
Why's everyone rushing to get attached all of a sudden after high school? Seems like a trend. XD
Take care, everyone.

Whr is everyone ??#@$@!$
Man, sumone better do sumthg, n i tink it's me !! LOL.
Ok so i jus gt back my results n it was ok. But lecturers were disappointed wo, duno y. Anyway......... here is the story i wana share.
Last Friday, i went to Redbox wif my frens n was wondering, is karaoke-ing a gd thing ?
Lik Li Hong said on his blog, we consider DotA-ing a bad thing. But he compared it to basketball n stuff too. So mayb after all it's jus how u see it.
But lik partying n clubbing, karaoke-ing is a fast way to lose money, which gives it a negative impression.
But, young adults our age nid to hang out n spend a little money, get high abit, do stuff out of the norm n jus LET GO !
Link dis wif clubbing.... wat makes it so different from karaoke-ing ? Can u ppl giv sum views on dat ?
Oh ya speaking of partying, i had a great party 2weekends back. Can read abt it at my blog. And man, Li Hong i still am loved by college gals. My MSN pic is testament to dat.
Cheers

My Dream Car
Not that it's bad, but I think it's just a wee bit too weird to hear someone boasting about how all the girls in the vicinity love him and (hopefully not) her. That'd be just plain weird.
Anyway, in order to enliven things a bit, I decided to be a bit random. This is my dream car:
It's so hot that it blazed..!
P.S. What I've posted above is not really my dream car. It's just one of those random thoughts that suddenly fly into your head. Besides, cars look better than Sui Yuan.
P.P.S. I was kidding. Really. Man, I feel so random! :D
And Sui Yuan, I was really, really kidding. :)

COLLEGE GALS LOVE SUI YUAN!!???
"college gals luv me"
hah..how u know college gals luv u..have u conducted a survey, done a research? Or izzit based on your own observation? Unlike the one made by rachel, this time..observation alone is plainly inadequate unless it is done by third party..if it is done by sui yuan then there will be will be a certain kind of bias..the super confident personality which dwells in sui yuan's overly active unconscious mind which sui yuan have no control over-just like there is a mr. Hyde in everyone one of us will surface and affect the observations. Thus i suggest that an independent panel comprising of students from different colleges be set up to anaylse this problem-whether college gal luves sui yuan. Of course the member of the independent panel cannot be handpicked by suiyuan. Instead it should be selected by an independent party. I suggest that a teacher or mentor from sunway college can be used for that purpose. And by the way..the panel shouldn't have college gals too!!
So, what can the independent panel do?
1) Firstly, they have to set definition for everything. Define college. Define girls. Define love. Define Sui Yuan
2) Do a survey of gals that sui yuan knows and ask them if they luv sui yuan. In the survey, there must also be a definition of love. And also definition of Sui Yuan.
3) Analyse the survey results. If more than 2/3 of the gals say they luv sui yuan. Well then his statement is somewhat proven. If not..then it is his overly active mind at work here.
And why would the independent panel be bothered to do any research at all? Certainly incentives must be given..
well..sui yuan can offer them free coaching on how to charm college gals...that certainly would be moe than sufficient payment for all the hard work that is done.
:) had a nice time reading?
good!! coz i had a nice time typing..CHEERS!
Saturday, July 22, 2006
Hmm..points to ponder
2) peer pressure: ppl see other ppl got, they also wan..so basically if alot of ppl break up then with my theory u will see many other ppl break up together also..haha
3) Hollywood's fault
4) still Hollywood's fault
5) Taylor's is damn small..no basketball court no field..the boys end up flirting during their free time
6) What do u expect..u think Taylor's is Catholic High School meh!!
7) Taylorians have alot of free time..except for the case of maybe Rachel who does all her assignments..
8) Rachel is seeing everything in a different light as she has uh..SH..AU..ermm..NN so she is trying to show that she is just normal.
9) Rachel is lying.
10)How would Rachel know?? You can't conclude anything by mere observation!! U need statistics, surveys, polling, votes!!! Rachel, can u obtain them and show it to the world?
If u can't, case is dropped.
haha..i should really be studying man..scored C for econs and E for general paper( english ) E!!!...wat the hell!! how can anyone get an E for their English Paper!! Florence!! Xing Ji!! Rachel!! Shaun!! lets exchange brains!! oh i forgot i dun wanna exchange brains with florence..dun wanna wash my own clothes..Maybe not Shaun too..i'll still be taking the same paper in another jc anyway so its redundant...same goes for Xing Ji..i'll have to take his KI..that leaves Rachel!!
argh but i dun wan Shaun!! shit.
guess that leaves me..
haha
hopefully everyone had a good laugh reading this post..i sure did =)
p.s Rachel the whole post is just jibberish..no truth in it unless u choose to believe..as i said in my blog..there ain't no truth..So basically X Files is telling a lie..but if there is no truth, then there will be no lie too..but then..how can there be no truth.."I'M NOW TYPING" this statement is the truth right...haha..maybe not..coz by the time u read this..i'm not actually typing anymore..haha..i can hear "WATEVER" around me already..
tats all for this month!!!
take care everyone!!

study till you drop
Come to think of it... if we had people like XingJi, Tim, Li Hong, Chun Wei, etc. over here, we won't be able to budge from chapter to chapter like what we've finally managed to commence on doing at the present. (The lecturer would be too busy rectifying him/herself and getting confused at the refutations and bizarre questions piped up at every other second.)
Or, they could just throw their weight around and do it their way:
REAL INCIDENT DURING CHEM CLASS
Classmate: Sir, why is it that some atoms in certain molecules don't have to reach the octet structure?
Lecturer: Oh... well... you don't have to know that. It's not in the syllabus.
lalala~
Oh, and I realised that I couldn't live without some things @ college:
1. Insect spray
VERY VERY IMPORTANT!!! Apparently I've been dubbed as an expert killer of cockroaches. The other 3 of my roommates are either frightened / can't care less about the roaches roaming the floors we step on each day. My current record is 2 a week. :P Oh, this object has to be paired up with a good pair of bathroom slippers. (Jungle roaches are very strong. You have to stomp at each *at least* thrice to end its life.)
2. Plastic bags
I reuse plastic bags over and over again to keep stuff, carry stuff, throw stuff into. I can't imagine life without plastic. Too handy.
3. Sticky tape
Thank God for the inventor of cellotape / masking tape, etc... I don't know what I'll do without them... Glue dries up really slow and you can't staple everything you want to stick together.
4. Memo papers
I have half a dozen in irregular sequence pasted all over on the wall where my study desk is situated.
And last but not least...
5. CLOTHES PEGS
VERY, VERY, VERY, VERY, VERY IMPORTANT!!!!!!! ESPECIALLY ON WINDY DAYS!!! I have witnessed a fallen shirt, a fallen pair of shorts on my balcony, a FALLING shirt, a fallen piece of apparel you wouldn't feel very comfortable having to knock on the door of your neighbour's downstairs to collect back for (and I and my other roommate thought it was really one of my roommate's. XD Awkward situation, that. But extremely educational, though. I never quite viewed pegs as an object that would save much embarrassment.)
Sigh. Still miss the old days of school, though. College is just so stale in comparison.
Have a great week ahead, you guys. :)
While I will... subjugate myself to the title above, heh. :P

All the cheeky things we did in the classroom, labs, etc.
The editorial board. I miss the ed-board room so much. Even though it was often messier than a pigsty. *sniff*
Too many memories to be penned down. :)
Oh, and 3A1/4S1/5S1 humour! Oh, sarcasm! How we need you at KTT!!! (Everyone's super frank and simple here. There's no... entertainment in that.)
Missing everyone,

Those stupid crazy years...
Sometimes though... while in the middle of a boring lecture or just stoning in my room... my thoughts wander off to those time I've had during sec school...everything seems funny now... even the cruel mindless punishments I've had at the hands of all those guru disiplin( i'm inclined to be biased against those puishments....)
Sometimes when I think of all the absurd things that have happened...such as the time we kai pow Loke Jin at the back of the class while Encik Hardev was teaching in front...Or Lihong's quotes of the day that were painstakingly compiled into the Book of Crap ( not sure who has it now)...and a whole lot of other seemingly day-to day funny happenings which were taken for granted then but seemed all the more precious now that we can't do them again...
How bout you guys... I'm sure you must have somthing to share with us about your time in CHS...cmon...if you dunno what to post...you can post this instead...some memorable moments in CHS...or even unmemorable ones...so that we can remember them again...it doesn't have to be a famous high point that everyone knows about...I'm not saying that it can't be ...it just doesn't have to be..yeah...it can just be something that happened one day that a few people know about which you think is cool or funny or sad or anything...heck...what am I typing...just post whatever you want...we'll read it all...
As for World Cup...I'll like to add my 2 cents worth....ya...2 cents...very cheap punya...anyways( I think I've finally found out where I learnt that word "anyways" from...yesterday I heard the song Stan by Eminem on Mtv and got one part he said anyways..and during form 1 i kept on reciting the lyrics everyday...but that's just me rambling again)....anyways...after I watched the match between Czech and Ghana...I'll have to say my new favourite team is Ghana man...most entertaining football match I've ever seen...My dearest World Cup hope is that Ghana will advance to the knockout stages and then continue to play like that and win the world cup...

So far, it is stil in the Group Stage n the last round of matches is startin today.
Here r a few facts for u ppl to know so u wun make a fool of urself :
1. Ronaldo aint a gd player, he is lousy !! So dun ask if he is the best player...
2. France arent doin as gd as they supposed to b. And yes, Henry is in France.
3. England hav Rooney n no he hasnt scored yet. But he will play today against Sweden.
4. Japan hav lost n South Korea might make it to the 2nd round. So dun say Japan is better than S.Korea.
5. Spain n Argentina hav been the best teams so far, scoring 15 goals between them in 4 matches.
Anyway was real bored so jus posted some crap here. Oh ya, the World Cup is in Germany, and is held every 4 yrs. And it is the WORLD Cup, so dun ask if Arsenal or Real Madrid r in it.

Ahoj!
Yup. He left to Negeri Sembilan this morning, to the matriculation college. However, he'll be back on weekends, so there will be quite a bit of travelling for him.
Oh, and he says that he'll update his site whenever he can do so - do check for updates.
That's all for now.
(How's everyone? Busy, busy, busy, eh. :P I have 3 weeks left of sheer enjoyment. Treasuring every blogging, on-lining, staring-at-the-ceiling, doing-nothing moments left. *grins*)

The anamolous autonomous robot and other such crap
Right now I'm feeling all happy because there's one more week till the holidays and just two more weeks till i'll be back in Msia...woohoo....i've been skipping school pretty much the last week...so I don't really look forward to going back this week...should i ponteng the whole thing away?
Actually, it wasn't really my fault to skip almost the whole week of school...serious...(ya rite)...Ok la, on monday i went to JC t 11.35 am, because i was slightly sick and sleepy in the morning, and 3 periods of KI plus 2 periods of maths lectures concerning functions isn't a great way to wake you up....on Tuesday i woke up early wishing i could skip school again...be carful what you wish for...it might just come true....my hopes were fulfilled in the most painful manner ever...I knew I was sick...I just didn't know how bad...that morning...i learnt the meaning of pure unadulterated excruciating suffering...just as i was about to (grudgingly) get into my uniform, I keeled over from a sharp pain in the solar plexus region...TUMMYACHE!! I ran to the toilet and ARRRGH....sat that for eternity(it seemed like it) screaming...my roommate was horrified...but I asked him to leave anyway...diarrhoea i assure you, is not something to be trifled with...i could barely satnd after that and my face was white...I staggered back to my bed and collapsed exhausted....well, at least I didn't have to go to school now....for lessons at any rate...(later on at 3 i returned to work on my robot...my classmates all saw me playing with it at the koi pond, apparently fit and healthy and disbelieved my spectacular morning sickness story...they just thought i was plain lazy...which i probably am)
Wednesday...today was the photo shoot and the registration for the underwater robot competition( URC) ...we had a briefing in which the organisers told us that they had set aside 600 sing dollars for any team which was able to produce an autonomous robot...so long as the robot managed to get 10 pts....now..to tell you the truth, our remote controlled robot was crap...somehow..the thing kept on crashing when we pressed any buttons...so when we confirmed with the organisrs that we would be able to get 600 bucks even if we finsihed last...so long as it was autonomous...a devious plan started to formulate within our devious minds..
Since we had nothing to lose and everything to gain...we decided to hard code our robot to move in the general direction of the tank by timing how long it takes to run a particular diretion and then programming it to do so...based on timing...the competition rules stated that every time we banged the sides or surfaced or touched the bottom...5 pts would be deducted, with a cap of 20 for vertical and horizontal banging respectively...thus..our robot would effectively have lost 40 pts...each team starts with 40 pts and completing all the tasks(moving along an L-shaped tank..picking up a cargo and then returning the cargo to the starting line) would net you 60 pts...meaning total amount of pts one would be able to acquire is 100 pts...the way we worked our baby...we would be getting 60 pts...however... we would be able to grab 600 bucks...becasuse effectively...our robot was now autonomous...ie...does not require a remote control
Truth be told...a real autonomous robot requires sensors and stuff and complex programming...the programming we did for our so alled auto bot was far simpler than the code required even for the remote control bots...we simply had to on and off the corresponding motors for a certain amount of time each...unfortunately...this being an inaugural competition..the orgnisers were quite lax about their definition of an autonomous robot...thus we were able to compete becasue of this loophole...what we did may be criticized as unethical by some but most importantly...it was legal....and it netted us an extra 300 bucks on the competition date( another team built an autonomous bot as well...a real one...unfortunately ...theirs couldn't run properly but the money was still split as they managed to collect 10 pts...dang)
Our ahem...slightly unconventional method did lead to some embarrasing moments though..the competition was held at a underwater technology fair called Oceans with delegates from all over the world such as Japan, France and the US.. One Japanese delegate was most impressed with our autonomous robot and asked me how it was that the robot could sense the walls and stuff like that...eeps...i saw my friend standing nearby and muttered that HE was the one who did the programming so the Japanese shuffled off to hunt my friend down instead...the last I heard was him crapping that we had programmed the robot to do certain stuff under certain probabilities and more such bullshit...he then said we didn't use sensors to do the job...because the man was most interseted as to where our sensors were...I think the Japanese was more confused than anything...but the important thing was...he was actually impressed...!
Oddly enough, the other teams who tried to manouver their RC robot most carefully inadvertently bumped into the sides as well because the tank was very narrow(40 x40 x40)...because pts take precedence over timing...everyone was aiming for 100...but ended up being very slow instead...our robot which disregarded banging( we had decided to forego that part) managed to end up a respectable 4th because many teams ended up only getting 60 pts as well but our timing was far better than theirs....as an added bonus...we even got invited to a fancy gala dinner for the prize giving ceremony that was held more for the benefit of the delegates....nicest food i've had since coming to singapore...we tried to order wine but couldn't because we were in uniform so we had to settle for coke instead...
Right now...I'm trying to hunt for more David Eddings books...i finished the Tamuli trilogy over the last week while attending the competition...i guess i should become a library memebr but I'm cheap so i'll probably just sit there and read my way through...
Btw, here's an interesting article that opens up a whole lot of food for thought...makes you wonder how safe smartcards really are... http://www.wired.com/wired/archive/14.05/rfid.html?pg=1&topic=rfid&topic_set=

Working.....anyone????
tada.... since i cannot afford to study in private colleges (although i can get full scholarship based on my results), i went out to SS2 to look for a part-time job to get on with my life......but to no avail..no one wants a fresh form 5 graduate who onli wants to work for 3 months...so i decided to contact my other poor friends about jobs available in the market.....
...and so i contacted hui xian...she said she is working in MEP (Meeting and Exhibition Planner Sdn Bhd)... i didn't reali get the name at first.. it sucks anyway... i asked her bout the pay and she said
....With high hopes.., i called Kia Sheng and asked him to "hire" me.......(let's skip all the phone conversation).. on Monday... i went to the company's premise in OUG, drove there coz free parking... went in and greeted the fat boss' sister "Yoke Leng" which is oso fat...., so i thought OMG no leng lui how to work.... KS (kia sheng) showed me my com and sat down.. he then put a pile of bonuslink application form on my desk, then ask me to type those forms into the com for their database.... he said "must reach the target of 325 entries in 1 week's time"
anxiously, i started my typing and was reali "piaing" so hard that my fingers almost dropped...and manage to reached the target in three days time ..(of coz la..geng mah)
At first, earning the
Oh yea... 12 other ex-CHSians working there... so very fun...oh yea.. forgot.. the working shift is from 7.30 in the morning till 3.30pm... so basically it's like goin to school except getting paid.. 8 hours of working.. but spend 1 hour talking and 1 hour lunch and 1 hour MSN.... so it's relaxing..satisfying ...and brain-rustying job.. except for our maths improve coz everyday need to count entries... after working for three weeks, i started to notice many leng luis in the company... dunno why the boss only employ leng lui... the only reason i can figure out is that the fat boss wants that type of figure and is willing to pay to admire that hour glass body shape....lol
As i said that my company... i mean the company plans event, meetings, exhibition, roadshows and conventions for various companies in kl such as Microsoft, IBM, samsiung, Nestle.......list goes on... so the company is constantly busy and need lots of temps for their events.... that is when opportnity strikes.... on 27, 28 ,29 March.... Nestle Sales Convention was held in Stadium Putra.....tell u guys... it's a very big convention 2000 people from all over Malaysia flew to KL for this... they are then seperated into 7 different hotels in KL...... i was in charge of the Sarawak Branch in Armada Hotel and Kia Sheng was in charge of the Johor Branch in Pearl International Hotel.. 4 people in charge of 1 hotel, including me and KS... wow... 300+ pax per hotel man...work from 5am till 1 am....... but the good news ....we r able to check in the hotel as well... manage a take a hot bath and some nap before the next big day.. oh.. the pay...(censored)
tell u man.... managers acting like children in KL... overgrown monkeys...2 bad they dun hav a big red butt 2 show off....
The sales Convention was really awesome...big applause to MEP multimedia team... the presentation was accompanied by videos and music... i recommend the song Stand Up(for the champion) by Right Said Fred.. very motivating when u all r feeling depressed... The stadium was literally divided into half, one portion for the stage for presentations and the other half was tables for lunch... imagine 200 tables align in the stadium... wow.... jsut cannot imagine such a plan could act work.... let's not talk bout it anymore...it will take another 1000 words. the convention ended with a dinner in Sunway convention centre with Jaclyn Victor as main performer..... main stage
spectacular...isn't it gala dinner at Sunwy Convention Centre
Next event....Smart Kids event held at PWTC.. first we act as if we r working for nestle... now for Microsoft.. hehe... well, we r supposed to be in charge of the Microsoft exhibition booth.. promoting Microsft Windows XP Starter Edition... so wat do u expect.. whole day standin g there running games to attract kids to the com.... let them like it and asked their parents to buy... that's our mission... although eventually failed becoz they onli managed to sell 24 coms.
we had 30 coms in the booth.. when we free... the whole scene was like at WCG (Cyber cafe)
...every temp staff sitting at the com.. playng... was scolded though by karen lee(another leng lui) i was act quite impressed by the way they design the booth.. with Microsoft logo colours as their carpet color and table color... lazy to describe, imagine urself
.. oh yea... the pay was (censored) a day for three days... that was the reason we were alwiz noisy in the lrt on the way bac home.. thinking bout the money we hav earned that day.... me at registration counter
a scene in WCG winners with their buddies
group photo with edison koko...crunch
i broke-backing woth edison koko...crunch
really having fun workin in this company.. our relationship among temps are reali close and had much fun together... no matter ups and downs happening around us.. the bad times includes negotiating event pay...hehe... we went for japanese buffet at legend hotel to celebrate our March pay, i even ate snails, oyster ...raw !!!!...BBQ coming up at my hse to celebrate gain (crap)...... wanna thank the company very much for the knowledge learned and the work experience attained... eating raw snails....yerr
jap buffet dinner @ legend hotel
did i mention that the fat boss actually treat us Pizza Hut after the release of SPM results???? 300 bucks gone for her to fill our tummies....
coming up events.. just to let u guys know... goin doen to JB in the next two weeks time.. having roadshow for Nescafe...... later we r goin penang as well....
catch up with u guys later... sleeping de

MARDI GRAS @ TEMASEK
is really an art festival which is celebrate throughout the whole world but is probably most famous in New Orleans!!
Well, my college had this Mardi Gras yesterday night, and it was essentially a night of performing arts..
the whole school was transformed into a giant theatre...At anytime throughout the evening, there were 5 performances going on simultaneously around the college..cool right??
and the students got to wear whatever they want, and the teachers all came dressed up..Suddenly the students and teachers all become leng lui!!(guess leng luiness really depends on the clothing..and guess our uniform really suxs.. :(
haha
the teachers sang and gave performances too...and when teachers do stuff like this, it always turns out to be hilarious and entertaining, regardless of how well the teachers performed..but this is not to say the teachers' performance sux last night!! they were really really good
oh besides that there were a lot of cool performances by cool people abundant in our college..like me =)
well
a pictures say a thousand words...but unfortunately i forgot to bring my camera to school yesterday..so too bad lar..
but as soon as i got hold of pictures..i'll post it up!!
haha
ChEErS!!

A campfire...to be forgotten
Anyway...started off in Singapore in worst possible manner...Arrgh....left my singaporean sim card in msia...have to tumpang lihong to take back...tomorrow(or rather today) will have to find him to take it back...and then when unpacking my bag...realised i didn't bring a whole lotta other stuff as well...which meant i had to go shopping for them...
So it's saturday nite...bout 8 someething...i'm trying to read econs when i smell...SMOKE?! i run to ask me room mate and he informs me that the local scouts in victoria school were having a campfire...!
Boy was i excited...it's been like forever since I've been to a campfire..pity i didn't bring my uniform along...and my camera...so no pictures here..I wasn't too sure whether i could go to the campfire...which was held on the highest floor in the school which is sorta like an open air stage area sorta...ya...but secu was kinda lax..so I managed to sneak in after all :) (when they turned their backs to entertain some guides who weren't pretty anyway...sad sad despo single sex school singaporeans)
So i go up that long flight of steps...the whoops and cheers getting louder...the smell of burning wood becoming stronger...and I emerge into ...(drumroll)...the campfire.
Okie...first...some comments on the deco...the local Victoria school scouts( arrow scouts they were called...because they have an arrow in their logo or something like that...only the Victorian Scouts though) set up tripods along the perimeter with the usual burning stuff inside...the campfire(which was quite small was in the middle and around it sat all the guides n scouts(bout 15 schools...200++ ppl)right in front was the stage...which they didn't need to built because they was already a raised platform in the stone floor there....no cool 3 storey structures in sight...and there weren't even any banners...cept the main one which was badly decorated with the wordings...68 arrow scouts campfire...written in marker pen i think...about the only cool thing was the mc(s) costume(rented i bet) which was red indian tribal chief dress cos the theme was THE RED INDIANS.
Ok...now...i'll talk about the campfire itself...first..uniforms...the singaporean scout uniform is the same as the malaysian scout...long pants, shirt and scarf...but the colour scheme is exactly that of the malaysian girl guides' uniform...light green blouse and dark green pants...scarf is red and white with singaporean flag behind...girl guides wear dark blue with yellow scarves...
As the night progressed...I noticed the ppl there like to sing alot...song followed song after song...i managed to procure a program book...scanned the list and realised there were only two games...AACK...I waited in vain for the first game which turned out to be...guess the song game...yup...the djs play a short part of a song and you're supposed to run out and guess the title...fine...whatever...once in awhile...when ppl started singing...they would get all hyped up and started dancing...which was kinda cool...but something was different...something wrong...i couldn't quite place my finger on it...until i realised...everyone was dancing among their own troop/coy...the scouts weren't asking the guides out to dance at all...it was all sexually segregated dancing!
What's the whole point about having a bloody campfire if everyone is just going to interact with ppl from their own troop or coy anyway...I asked a local scout how come they never ask the guides out to dance with em...even dances which required partnering(in my opinion) were conducted among ppl of the same sex...he replied that you could get sued for molest if you touch a girl...and that even if you ask a guide out to dance...they'll reject you anywy...not because you're ugly...but because they think it's wrong(oh surprise)...and yet having sex at 13 isn't.....hmmm
After the 36th song( I am not kidding you) i decided to call it quits...the performances which were all performed by visiting troops were few n far between and on the rare chance that a troop or coy came up with a performance...it's some half-baked cheesy uncoordinated last minute dance with girls too shy to pull off the more sexy moves convincingly enough...there was a lion dance though...but nothing on the one we had at chs(pj)...
I miss chs...and i miss the 9th pj scout troop...i miss the tension and the rivalry and the catcalls so omnipresent at malaysian campfires which sadly do not exist here...i miss great looking assunta and sri aman guides who are just dying to play the next game with you...i miss tall imposing structures which take weeks to build...i miss cool banners painted during lessons so we could skip classes...i miss wreaking havoc at other ppls' campfires....i miss fun...if you're looking for true BP spirit with a touch of excitment...don't look here

hello again
I'm helping my aunt who's a lecturer in nursing carry out surveys of heart disease patients in Hospital KL every Thursday. Good way to brush up my nearly-forgotten BM, spoken with more "err"s and "uhmm"s than ever. So far, so good... the fun thing about it is that I get to carry out these surveys with about 4 third-year medical students (which from my observations, could be from CHS and are pretty normal and not at all bleary-eyed and sleep-deprived the books and the media make them out to be). Most of the heart patients are aged over 50. Apparently the marketing tactic to ensure they finish answering that 20-minutes survey without running away from us labcoat-clad youngsters is to praise how good and fit they look every now and then. :P And the most hilarious thing about Hospital KL is that beside the consultation room, there's this HUGE aquarium. The water is jet-black - poor fishes must be choking in there. Knowing me, when I saw that, muffled long-term giggles took place instantly.
How's everyone? From what I heard, Form 6 starts somewhere in May. JPA results should be out soon. Hmm. Hope everyone's good.
I miss our class. How I wish we could, like, stick together as a class and form a country on our own or something.
Wait a minute... that would mean economic imbalance. What would we do with about TWENTY doctors, a few business people, a few lawyers, a few engineers?
Who would we doctors operate on?????
Haha! Wishing you guys all the best in pursuing your dreams into succession!
P.s. Come to think about it, *do* we have 20 aspiring doctors from our class alone?

Of results and marker pens
ok....i haven't been blogging for a long...long time...rite....y?because i can't ever get o9 in a long long time...yes...connectivity here sux because soemone is hogging...
i had a most interesting chemistry lecture the other day...yesterday actually...we were learning chemical bondings...covalent bonding to be more exact...anyhow..the lecturer was blaberring on about sigma bonds n pi bonds and how one was head on and the other side along and bla..if u dont get it ...dont worry..i wasn't paying attention either( i was playin bridge at the back)
anyhow...this lecturer was a most excited n exaggerated character with the most unctious voice i've seen anyone possess...when he came to the part of the head on and side along bonding...he started to take two marker pens and banging them together repeatedly in a higly obscene manner...the whole lecture theather was burssting with silent derisive laughter..and that bastard was oblivious to it all...at one point..he even made a hole with his hand and started thrusting the marker into it most vigorously...i don't know what that demonstration was for...anyhow...i din't remember much after that because i blacked out from laughter(by now, everyone had exploded...so no point holding it back)
Numerous videos were made of his vulgar performance...i'll try to see if i can lay my hands on one of those and post them here...
On a sidenote...I'm quite anxious about the upcoming SPM results on the 13..how bout u guys?...and good luck everyone!!

Oh ya i tried for Student Council but din get it. Mei Khoon from s2 gt it though. Our system here is diff from Taylors. We hav no voting system n hav to b interviewed. I cant blif i din get it whiloe Tze Siang gt it (the LPS), no offense to him though. Anyway i wun b dat free s study n YOU club is very much on my mind.
Btw guys abt Youth Outdoor Utopia, it was Chun Wei's idea initially, all credit to him. Those of u who luv camping n those of u who havent tried, pls join in the club. Taylors might hav one n HELP too though i'm not sure abt both. The camp is scheduled to b during December, so do leave some time available for dis camp.
Er... how's accounts ?? Well its so much different from skool man. I hav to take 9 papers dis yr n its all related to being a manager. I learn stuff lik accounting to ppl management to costing. Wow my head's exploding man. Stil can manage my time quite well. I dun tink u guys might lik wat i'm doin, but hey, in 10yrs i maybe earning more than any of u, doctors included !!
